See It Differently
Overview
"See It Differently" is a short film created close to home. Shot around Mothar Mountain in Queensland, this piece was a personal challenge to find beauty and meaning without needing to travel far. It’s a reflection on how often we search for more when sometimes the most powerful shift comes from changing how we look at what's already around us.

The Story Behind the Shoot
I wanted to make something simple but honest. No big locations. No distant landscapes. Just my local area, viewed through a different lens. I gave myself one goal. See the familiar like I’d never seen it before. As I filmed, I realised how much I usually overlook. The trees. The light. The quiet. Every shot became an exercise in attention and intention. This was about slowing down and noticing.
Filming Details
Shot over a single day in natural light. I filmed solo with lightweight gear, moving between forest trails, rock pools, and open clearings around Mothar Mountain. I kept the visuals soft and minimal. Static shots, handheld motion, and subtle movement in frame. Nothing flashy. Just what was there.
Editing & Post-Production
Edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve. I leaned into warm natural tones to keep things grounded. The pacing is slow and steady.

What I Learned
You don’t need to go somewhere wild to make something meaningful. This film reminded me that creativity often comes from limitation. Sometimes the best stories are already right here. You just have to stop and look.
